Mechanical Design Engineer – Tooling
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models of mold components, assemblies and complete injection molds for plastic parts, based on approved design concepts and technical requirements.
- Prepare 2D technical drawings with all necessary dimensions, tolerances, fits and technical specifications.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), component lists and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Provide accurate technical information required for ordering materials and standard mold components.
- Prepare and maintain CAD files, technical drawings and project documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
- Work closely with CNC/CAM programmers, machining specialists and mold assembly technicians to clarify technical questions related to design documentation.
- Identify and report inconsistencies, missing information or technical issues in the design documentation.
- Make design modifications based on instructions from the responsible engineer.
Requirements:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of technical drawings, dimensional tolerances and fits.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and mechanical components.
- Basic or practical experience with 3D CAD software and the preparation of 2D technical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and follow design requirements.
- Good working knowledge of English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
- Previous experience with CAD software, especially VISI, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of injection mold design and toolmaking processes is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, good organizational and teamwork skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
