As a Master Production Scheduler, you will play a key role in ensuring customer demand is met while balancing production capacity and operational priorities.
Your responsibilities
- Create and manage short-term production schedules in line with planning rules and business priorities
- Maintain and prioritize the customer order book to support on-time delivery
- Balance customer demand with available manufacturing capacity
- Provide realistic delivery commitments and feedback to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate priorities and resolve scheduling issues with Customer Service and Supply Chain Management, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams
- Manage order amendments, urgent requests, and production plan changes
- Maintain accurate ERP data and production planning information
- Support continuous improvement of planning processes and scheduling performance
Your Skills & Competencies
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, order management, customer service, or a similar operational environment
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Fourth Shift
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a dynamic order book while balancing customer demand and production capacity
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing business demands
- Proactive, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently, take ownership, and make informed decisions within established processes
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach
