Job Summary
The Technical Engineer is responsible for testing rubber raw materials and compounds to ensure compliance with quality standards. The role supports quality assurance through material validation, testing, documentation, and laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical, chemical, and mechanical testing of rubber materials.
- Validate incoming material batches and report quality deviations.
- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
- Ensure calibration and proper functioning of lab instruments.
- Maintain test records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Prepare and share laboratory test reports with stakeholders.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and support quality audits.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams for material approvals.
Required Skills and Experience
- Diploma/B.Tech/B.Sc in Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in rubber testing or laboratory operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of rubber testing standards and laboratory equipment.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with rheometers, tensile testers, and Mooney viscometers.
- Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and quality management systems.
- Exposure to rubber manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of laboratory safety and compliance requirements.
