About the Role
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound transportation activities, ensuring timely movement of raw materials and finished goods. This role supports smooth production and customer delivery operations by managing transport planning, documentation, and coordination with logistics partners while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Arrange transportation for raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Coordinate with transporters, freight providers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries and dispatches.
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve logistics-related issues proactively.
- Prepare and verify transport documentation, invoices, E-way bills, and shipping records.
- Track logistics costs and support freight optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with purchase, production, stores, and sales teams for dispatch planning.
- Maintain logistics records and reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- Graduate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in logistics coordination within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of transportation management and dispatch processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and logistics documentation.
- Knowledge of freight management, route planning, and shipment tracking.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in rubber, fabrication, engineering, or industrial manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to inventory and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
- Understanding of statutory transportation compliance and E-way bill processes.
- Ability to analyze logistics performance and cost-saving opportunities.
