Note: This is a contract position limited for one year.
About the Role
As a Plant Buyer, you are responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of indirect materials and services for the site. Your duties include processing purchase orders, obtaining quotations, monitoring delivery schedules, and maintaining purchasing master data in the ERP system. In addition, you work closely with suppliers and internal departments, handle supplier-related issues and complaints, and support the continuous improvement of procurement processes
About your responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of indirect materials and services, from demand identification and purchase order processing to reviewing and clarifying order confirmations, tracking deliveries, monitoring supplier performance, verifying invoices, and ensuring timely payment
- Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations
- Support price negotiations and assist with the conclusion, administration, and renewal of supplier and service contracts
- Handle supplier complaints and non-conformities in cooperation with Quality and suppliers
- Create and maintain purchasing master data, supplier records, and material data
- Manage price lists and purchasing conditions within the ERP system
- Maintain procurement-related documentation, including contracts, certificates, and supplier records
- Support internal departments with procurement activities and purchasing-related inquiries
What you bring
- Successfully completed commercial or technical vocational training (e.g., Office Administrator, Industrial Clerk, or equivalent)
- Additional qualifications in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field are an advantage
- Several years of experience in operational purchasing or plant procurement is desirable
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented way of working
- Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
