About the Role
The Production Manager will oversee rubber manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role is responsible for managing production teams, optimizing processes, and meeting output targets in alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet output and delivery targets.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and rubber compounds.
- Oversee rubber mixing, molding, curing, and finishing processes to maintain productivity and quality.
- Monitor production KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive waste and downtime reduction.
- Ensure product quality standards through close coordination with QA/QC and laboratory testing teams.
- Lead, train, and supervise production staff while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance, stores, procurement, and planning teams for smooth plant operations.
- Prepare production reports and provide regular performance updates to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Rubber, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering; diploma holders with relevant experience may also apply.
- 8–12 years of experience in rubber manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of rubber processing techniques and machinery.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma preferred.
- Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems.
