We have been active in our lean manufacturing journey for many years and are advancing towards making our business a showcase of excellence in the medical industry.

The Toolmaker supports manufacturing by building molds, fixtures and related tools, completing repairs and revisions.  

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machine tools or Tool Room equipment as needed to build, repair, revise and service molds, fixtures, and related tools in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure molds, fixtures, and related tools are fit and assembled according to design specifications.
  • Monitor jobs and assigned tasks utilizing MRP systems to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Inform the appropriate stakeholders of any expected delays or potential impacts to tool performance or delivery.
  • Aid in trouble shooting and resolving tooling performance problems.
  • Inspect machined components and records dimensional data.
  • Attend tool design review meetings and provide input to design for manufacturability.
  • Train and mentor other team members in accepted methods and best practices of the trade

Education and Experience

  • Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Estimated 7 years tool making experience.
  • Experience with CAD for examination of tool assemblies
  • Desired
  • 2-year technical degree in Machine Tool Trades/Tool and Die
  • Programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information, and direction effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate adequate job knowledge to deliver a world class performance.
  • Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines.
  • Willingness to strive for excellence by producing work that is free of errors and mistakes.
  • Desire to delight both customers and coworkers by offering encouragement, fostering teamwork, and addressing conflict appropriately.
  • Commitment to making improvements company wide.
  • Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office
  • Advanced mathematical skills
