About the Job

As Production Area Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operational management of assigned production areas or shifts, ensuring production plans are executed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide visible, hands‑on leadership on the shop floor, leading Production Supervisors and Factory Operatives to deliver daily performance targets. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational stability, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day‑to‑day production activities within assigned areas or shifts, ensuring plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to schedule
  • Allocate labour and resources to meet output, quality and performance targets
  • Monitor daily KPIs, taking corrective action and providing clear operational updates
  • Provide visible leadership on the shop floor, coaching and supporting Production Supervisors
  • Set clear expectations for performance, behaviour and attendance, managing issues in line with company policies
  • Maintain skills and coverage through effective use of the skills matrix, holidays and overtime planning
  • Lead health, safety and quality compliance, promoting a strong safety culture and addressing issues at source
  • Support continuous improvement activities, maintaining high standards of 5S, housekeeping and operational discipline

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working to production plans and operational KPIs
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing principles such as 5S, waste reduction and continuous improvement
  • Confident user of MS Office and ERP or production systems

Travel & Flexibility

  • This is a factory‑based role supporting local operations
  • No regular travel is required
