About the Job

Trelleborg Group is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Privacy with a strong background in global industrial environments. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of privacy, and maintaining robust privacy governance across all regions. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, operational excellence, and the ability to optimize privacy processes across the organization. This is a leadership role requiring the ability to influence and secure buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a global data privacy strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Design, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls that support data privacy compliance and risk mitigation
  • Lead the Privacy Office by encouraging accountability, raising awareness, and guiding the team on emerging privacy topics
  • Identify gaps in privacy practices and drive improvements through structured quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with business and IT owners to conduct DPIAs for new initiatives involving personal data
  • Review Legitimate Interest Assessments and manage Data Subject Access Requests
  • Oversee data breach response and notification procedures
  • Advise on Data Processing Agreements and support international data transfer mechanisms
  • Provide management reporting on privacy compliance deliverables
  • Monitor global data protection developments and assess their impact
  • Utilize privacy management platforms such as OneTrust

About the Ideal Candidate

You bring a solid foundation in privacy and data protection, with experience from global organizations, ideally within industrial or manufacturing settings. You combine strategic thinking with operational execution and have a strong ability to embed privacy into business processes, systems, and culture.

We believe you have:
  • A university degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in global privacy in a similar privacy leadership role within a global industrial or manufacturing company.
  • Working knowledge of IT and information security concepts, with the ability to engage effectively with technical stakeholders.
  • A solid practical understanding of GDPR, PIPL, CCPA and other global privacy laws, including data lifecycle management and compliance processes.
  • Awareness of AI technologies and their implications for privacy, with the ability to support responsible AI initiatives in the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, optimize, and scale privacy programs across complex organizational structures.
  • Experience in driving transformation, implement best practice and embedding privacy into business processes and culture.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus

You are analytical, structured, and proactive. You can work independently, thrive in multilingual and multicultural environments and are confident in influencing cross-functional teams and people at different levels of the organization, building trust, and driving privacy maturity across the organization.

Position framework

This is a full-time, global role based at our Head office in Trelleborg, with occasional travel depending on business needs. You will be a part of the Group Legal function and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across functions and geographies. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and influence.
