An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operative within our MSD Department.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a key role in this department and be responsible for…

  • Manufacturing hand-crafted components from raw steel tube and strip to precise specifications
  • Operating a range of industrial machinery including Induction Welders, Hydraulic Presses and  
  • Steel Slitting Machines
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout all tasks
  • Performing quality control inspections using calibrated measuring equipment
  • Be able to interpret and follow Manufacturing Works Orders (MWOs) and technical drawings
  • Conducting basic machine inspections and routine maintenance
  • Managing stock control and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
  • Collaborate with other departments and communicate effectively across all levels

Education and Experience

  • Vocational qualification related to manufacturing, engineering, or production (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Manufacturing Operations).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools.
  • Understanding of basic quality control procedures.

Desirable

  • Health & Safety certifications e.g., Manual Handling, COSHH.
  • Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools.
  • Understanding of basic quality control procedures.
  • Experience working to production targets and KPIs.
  • Previous involvement in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Team-based work experience with good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
