An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operative within our MSD Department.Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in this department and be responsible for…
- Manufacturing hand-crafted components from raw steel tube and strip to precise specifications
- Operating a range of industrial machinery including Induction Welders, Hydraulic Presses and
- Steel Slitting Machines
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout all tasks
- Performing quality control inspections using calibrated measuring equipment
- Be able to interpret and follow Manufacturing Works Orders (MWOs) and technical drawings
- Conducting basic machine inspections and routine maintenance
- Managing stock control and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Collaborate with other departments and communicate effectively across all levels

Education and Experience
- Vocational qualification related to manufacturing, engineering, or production (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Manufacturing Operations).
- Experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools.
- Understanding of basic quality control procedures.
Desirable
- Health & Safety certifications e.g., Manual Handling, COSHH.
- Familiarity with operating machinery or hand tools.
- Understanding of basic quality control procedures.
- Experience working to production targets and KPIs.
- Previous involvement in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Team-based work experience with good communication and collaboration skills.
