Who we are

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineering Team Leader to oversee our factory's maintenance operations. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient functioning of machinery and equipment, manage the tooling workshop, lead the maintenance team, and drive performance through effective maintenance strategies and KPIs. Additionally, the role involves supporting engineering projects, facilities tasks, and introducing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with the production team. Proven experience in maintenance engineering, team leadership, and TPM is preferred. If you are proactive and dedicated, we would love to hear from you.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations:

· Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repairs on factory equipment and machinery.

· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs (PPM) to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.

· Manage the operations of the tooling workshop.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations for all team activities.

Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM):

· Schedule and coordinate PPM activities using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure regular inspection, maintenance, and servicing of equipment.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

· Continuously improve PPM processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Team Leadership:

· Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

· Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources.

· Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

· Develop the team to deliver the maintenance service levels needed to support current and future needs.

Maintenance Service Levels:

· Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance activities.

· Analyze data and generate reports on maintenance performance, identifying areas for improvement.

· Implement strategies to drive improvements in service levels provided by the team and achieve maintenance goals that support site needs.

Engineering Projects and Facilities Tasks:

· Support the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring maintenance requirements are integrated into project plans.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical expertise and support for project execution.

· Assist in planning and executing facilities tasks, including infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.

· Work with suppliers to secure parts and services required.

· Introduce Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to the site.

The Ideal Candidate

Academic Qualifications

· Relevant engineering qualification at National Qualification Framework Level 5 (e.g., HND) or equivalent.

· IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certificate is highly desirable.

Experience

· Proven experience as a maintenance team leader in a manufacturing environment, or as a senior maintenance engineer with the aptitude and motivation to step into a team leadership position.

· Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and improving its effectiveness.

· Experience managing maintenance in accordance with BS 14200 or an equivalent maintenance management system is desirable.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze problems, and develop effective solutions.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, other departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

This position is based on-site at Bridgwater. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
