Who we are

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a leading global supplier of polymer-based critical sealing solutions and components for general industry, automotive, and aerospace. We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide.

We are looking for a Test Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Test Engineer, you will be key in preparing, executing, and analysing product tests in our Product Engineering Test Lab, ensuring all work aligns with agreed test specifications.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Test Preparation – Organising and inspecting test samples, ensuring all test hardware is properly detailed and configured to meet required parameters. Supporting dynamic risk assessments to guarantee test setups are correctly and safely constructed. Proactively identify, resolve, and share lessons learned from potential safety concerns.
  • Test Monitoring – Overseeing test execution to ensure conditions remain within expected parameters and accurate test data is collected. Conduct periodic reviews with Test and Product Engineers and promptly report non-conforming conditions.
  • Post-Test Analysis – Managing the disassembly of test setups and compiling post-test measurements and data for in-depth review with Test and Product Engineers.
  • Lab Organization & 5S Compliance – Working collaboratively with the Test Engineering team to maintain an organised and efficient lab environment, ensuring all equipment is available, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Metrology – Performing precision measurements, including surface roughness, surface hardness, roundness, and runout assessments, to support test accuracy and reliability.
  • Test Sample Analysis – Conducting key measurements before and after testing, presenting findings on changes observed during the test process.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identifying opportunities to enhance test equipment, methodologies, and processes within the Test Lab environment, contributing to ongoing improvements and operational excellence.

  • Strong practical and mechanical skills, with the ability to work hands-on in a testing environment.
  • Excellent time management, including the ability to anticipate and plan for future activities.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset, capable of thinking innovatively to overcome challenges.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Determined and resourceful, able to adapt to challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety requirements in a workplace setting.
  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
  • Solid numerical skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data accurately.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive to take initiative.
  • A collaborative team player, committed to working effectively with colleagues.
  • Keen to learn and continuously improve, with a growth-oriented mindset.

This position is based on-site at Bridgwater. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
