Tasks and Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machine tools or Tool Room equipment as needed to build, repair, revise and service molds, fixtures and related tools in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure molds, fixtures, and related tools are fit and assembled according to design specifications.
- Monitor jobs and assigned tasks utilizing MRP systems to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Inform the appropriate stakeholders of any expected delays or potential impacts to tool performance or delivery.
- Aid in trouble shooting and resolving tooling performance problems.
- Inspect machined components and records dimensional data.
- Attend tool design review meetings and provide input to design for manufacturability
- Train and mentor other team members in accepted methods and best practices of the trade
Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Estimated 7 years of tool making experience
- Experience with CAD for examination of tool assemblies
Desired:
- 2-year technical degree in Machine Tool Trades/Tool and Die
- Programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
- Some experience in leading a project or team
