As a Senior Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in devising efficient means to produce parts and products, ensuring safety, quality, and meeting production deadlines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineers, to provide technical support and solve complex problems. Your expertise in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement will be key to our success.
Job Responsibilities
- Systematically focus on the Manufacturing process with Product structure design, standardization of SOP, process control & traceability, and operator training
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers to provide technical specification & support with raw material, process exceptions, final inspection, independent problem-solving, and technical transfer projects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, efficiency, capacity ramping up, cost reduction, value stream, and lean manufacturing
- Deep dive into product requirements, including product structure, equipment, and materials, to estimate potential risks
- Document current production procedures and create company standards to improve the efficiency of the Production Department
- Verify worker adherence to SOP, ensure equipment capabilities meet SOP, and evaluate the effectiveness of process training
- Perform BOM & routine tracking to identify differences and adjust processes in a timely manner
- Maintain the stability of processes and product quality through daily process maintenance
- Collaborate with Quality Department to identify and implement ongoing quality improvements
- Stay updated with current production methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Develop and implement production processes for new products, product enhancements, and changes
- Achieve cost-effective production outcomes while enhancing productivity
- Analyze and present production and process data, information, and trends to management
- Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions
- Lead, train, and develop the Production team
- Develop and maintain production schedules
- Promote a positive team dynamic and encourage cooperation within the department
- Provide feedback to other departments such as Quality, Engineering, Technical, and Sales & Marketing
- Collect and enter production data into the ERP system for accurate traceability
- Attend regular meetings and follow up on required actions
- Submit weekly and monthly reports
- Complete additional ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned by the Rubber MFG Manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5 years or more experience in mechanical industrial manufacturing, with a focus on steel fabrication, machining, welding, blasting, and painting
- Proficiency in English communication
- Familiarity with manufacturing excellence and Lean Six Sigma practices is preferred
- Skill in analyzing data and using it to make informed decisions
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills with a desire to work in a team environment
- Initiative, diligence, and responsibility in delegating work appropriately
- Resourceful and highly motivated with a strong sense of commitment and urgency
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
