About the job

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the management of a global sales team with resources in the UK, South Korea, Singapore and France (agents in China, Japan, the UAE and Turkey), crafting & delivering an effective sales strategy in order to increase product market position and increase sales in line with company targets, as well as identifying new markets and business opportunities developing individual strategies in collaboration with Sales Managers. The main office & production facility is based near Chester, UK.

Responsibilities also include.

  • Direct and control the work and resources of the Sales team every day to meet company sales objectives
  • Prepare, gain approval, and deliver the sales forecast projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products so that sales objectives are met in the most cost-effective and efficient way
  • Supervise and report progress against these plans on a monthly basis.
  • Handle departmental budget to forecast
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping updated on changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Establish and adjust selling prices by supervising costs, competition, and supply and demand in order to improve profitability (EBIT) of each product
  • Represent the Company with customers to secure the most effective contract terms
  • Ensure all contracts adhere as much as possible to the Trelleborg “11 commandments”
  • Provide long term market intelligence and forecasting on product and market trends for the preparation of the three-year strategic plan for the PA and the product development programme
  • Maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, key decision-makers, and other partners
  • Work with TMS team to maintain and improve an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products and services. This also involves identifying the key trade shows to attend
  • Ensure all product presentations and literature is maintained and up to date and all Sales staff are familiar with each.
  • Ensure sales team develop their technical knowledge by attending product workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Implement and lead Trelleborg Excellence Programmes relevant to department
  • Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the Sales Department aligns with all health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Ensure the compliance of all relevant statutory and Trelleborg HR policies for Sales team members in relevant countries
  • Work with the rest of the company management team to ensure a cohesive and effective team ethic is maintained
  • International travel will be required as per business requirements

About the ideal candidate

  • Degree or equivalent level
  • Preferably 10+ years’ experience within the industry at a sales management level (LNG and Vessel Technology). Validated sales knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry
  • Previous experience of handling and maintaining client and partner relationships
  • Track record of working with external marketing teams to implement and implement marketing strategies
  • Ability to handle complexity
  • Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills. Excellent planning with the ability to follow up and deliver results
