Trelleborg Industrial Solutions (TIS) is a global leader in innovative polymer-based solutions for key industries and critical infrastructure. We are one of two Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group, with a total of about 6 200 employees around the world.
In this role you will belong to product area Marine Fenders and help our customers increase efficiency in port approach, berthing, docking, and mooring. Our mission is to pioneer innovative solutions that redefine the limits of what can be achieved. Our focus lies in the realm of building infrastructure, where the common challenge is to ensure effective sealing, damping, and protection against water. Our contributions extend globally, encompassing the realization of numerous immersed tunnels including the Coentunnel and Heinenoordtunnel, among many others.
As projects continue to evolve in complexity and scale, we remain steadfast in accepting the inherent challenges. Our approach at Trelleborg Infrastructure is not that of a mere supplier, but that of a trusted and adept business partner to our clients. While suppliers may offer products, we pride ourselves on delivering enduring, comprehensive solutions that stand the test of time.
As the next Junior Design Engineer at Trelleborg, your key responsibility will be ensuring our product aligns with the applicable international design standards and fulfils customer design specifications.
You will deliver cost efficient product design that meets customer requirements and relevant international standards. Design covers both application engineering as well as detailed design of the products. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and recording engineering files and design requests on the Marine Systems Europe site.
Together with your team you will support and coordinate with sales and project managers in their daily work, as well as external personnel. You will also support customer service where needed as well as coordinate with clients on design related items.
As the ideal candidate, you are highly motivated and have recently completed your BSc degree in engineering, preferably with a background in mechanical or civil engineering or equivalent, and have some experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks software. You are an excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and therefore have the ability to connect with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Your strong lateral thinking skills make problem-solving a natural ability.
You can work independently, prioritize tasks, handle your time efficiently, and tackle challenges. You have an understanding of operational budgets and reporting, as well as knowledge of the application of technical principles and techniques in design and production. You are also proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. It would be advantageous, but not essential if you have work experience in an engineering environment and international experience.
At Trelleborg, you will get the opportunity to accelerate customer performance with environmentally positive solutions, as well as growing and improving yourself and the communities you are part of. You can expect a career path passionate about growth, a competitive salary, and good secondary benefits.
This role is not just a job, but a career-making opportunity at the forefront of the marine and infrastructure industry. Be part of a team where your skills, expertise, and contributions will be valued and where you can truly make a difference.
