About the Job

The Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of the Nottingham Site Leadership Team and serves as the site's senior HR representative. The role partners closely with leaders and employees to align people strategies with business objectives, build organisational capability, and foster a high-performing culture.

Acting as a trusted adviser to managers and leaders, the HR Business Partner provides practical, commercially focused guidance on people-related matters and supports organisational effectiveness through engagement, talent development, workforce planning and continuous improvement.

As a representative of our company, the Human Resources Business Partner will operate in accordance with Trelleborg's core values and the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities  

  • Serve as a member of the Nottingham Site Leadership Team, contributing to organisational effectiveness, workforce planning and business performance.
  • Partner with leaders to develop organisational capability, succession planning, talent development and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives and provide coaching and guidance to managers on people-related matters.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management and workplace investigations.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and employee exit processes in compliance with UK employment law, ACAS guidance, GDPR and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, minimising organisational risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Promote an inclusive, high-performing culture through employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
  • Coordinate training, development and performance management activities to support organisational capability and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and employee data with the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures and support their ongoing review and development.
  • Collaborate with regional and global HR colleagues to support business, site and group-wide initiatives.
  • Support compensation, benefits and reward programmes, including market benchmarking and salary review processes.
  • Other tasks and projects as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR, HR Business Partner or equivalent role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong communication, judgement and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, workforce planning or talent development initiatives.
  • Previous experience as a member of a site management or leadership team.
  • Experience using HR information systems and workforce reporting tools.

About the Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in Learning & Development or Training Management is preferred.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
  • Exposure to technical, compliance, behavioral, and leadership training programs.
  • Strong Communication in English and Kannada.

About the role

As Senior HR Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle and ensuring the consistent delivery of our People agenda across PA Marine Systems.

You will work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner and act as a trusted HR advisor to leaders and employees across multiple international locations, with a particular focus on the US and additional support across other countries, including Australia.

This is a broad and hands-on senior HR role, combining employee relations, recruitment, performance and talent management, organizational changes, HR compliance and operational HR delivery.

About your responsibilities

  • Independently manage employee relations cases, including performance matters, disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation and HR policies, with a strong focus on US employment law and practices.

  • Strong hands-on employee relations experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law and employment practices is essential.
  • Knowledge of Australian employment law and HR practices is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting multiple international locations and working across cultures.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Strong judgment and confidence advising managers on people-related matters.
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented and comfortable working independently in an international matrix organization.

Supporting approximately 220 employees across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, you will play a key role in partnering with business leaders, driving organizational effectiveness, supporting growth initiatives, and helping shape the future of the organization through its people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and management teams.
