What you bring

  • Education:
    • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent e.g. CIPD level 5) in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field is often required.
  • Experience in HR:
    • Including roles in areas from assistant, specialist, or management working across international environments 
  • Relationship Management:
    • Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Demonstrated proficiency in managing employee relations.

About the Job

The Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of the Nottingham Site Leadership Team and serves as the site's senior HR representative. The role partners closely with leaders and employees to align people strategies with business objectives, build organisational capability, and foster a high-performing culture.

Acting as a trusted adviser to managers and leaders, the HR Business Partner provides practical, commercially focused guidance on people-related matters and supports organisational effectiveness through engagement, talent development, workforce planning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities  

  • Serve as a member of the Nottingham Site Leadership Team, contributing to organisational effectiveness, workforce planning and business performance.
  • Partner with leaders to develop organisational capability, succession planning, talent development and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives and provide coaching and guidance to managers on people-related matters.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management and workplace investigations.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and employee exit processes in compliance with UK employment law, ACAS guidance, GDPR and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, minimising organisational risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Promote an inclusive, high-performing culture through employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
  • Coordinate training, development and performance management activities to support organisational capability and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and employee data with the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR, HR Business Partner or equivalent role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong communication, judgement and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, workforce planning or talent development initiatives.
  • Previous experience as a member of a site management or leadership team.

Summary

The Human Resources Manager plays a key strategic and hands-on role in developing and implementing people-focused initiatives that support our organizational goals. Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to align HR strategies with overall organizational goals.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and policy adherence.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal resources as needed/required. Management of site UI, WC, EEO, etc.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, training recommendations and disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase employee engagement and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Leads recruitment efforts and develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Payroll management; work with managers to ensure timecard accuracy and consistency. Reviewing final ledger for accuracy before payments are released.
  • May include support and interpretation of employee benefit programs, company vehicles, training development, etc.
  • Ensure site is maintaining employee records, data and reporting with the highest degree of confidentiality and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Coordinate/develop training plans as needed. Manage annual review process and assist in performance management including both compensation/incentives and warnings/discipline process.

Education and Experience

Requirements:
