About the Job

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Leicester.

In this role, you will lead and develop our supply chain operations, ensuring that materials, production planning and logistics are effectively coordinated to meet customer requirements and business objectives.

You will play a key role in improving processes, strengthening supplier relationships and driving operational efficiency. Working closely with colleagues across manufacturing, sales, procurement and other functions, you will help build a reliable, responsive and cost-effective supply chain.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, solving problems and making a real impact in a dynamic, international manufacturing environment.

Supply Chain Planning & Operations

  • Lead demand planning, inventory planning and production planning, establishing clear and effective processes across all three areas.
  • Work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to forecast demand, align production capacity and ensure material availability.
  • Manage inventory levels to support customer demand while reducing excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock.
  • Oversee order fulfilment and logistics activities to ensure accurate, timely and cost-effective deliveries to customers.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Manage the procurement of direct and indirect materials within operations, balancing cost, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, leading commercial negotiations and overseeing supplier contracts.
  • Work with suppliers to improve delivery performance, manage supply risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Continuous Improvement & Business Performance

  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, efficiency and overall performance.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives supporting new business opportunities, manufacturing improvements and operational changes.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to identify trends, address challenges and drive improvements.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop practical solutions to minimise disruption.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, support and develop a team, creating an environment that encourages collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively with colleagues from different countries and cultures, adapting your leadership and communication style to support a diverse team.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure supply chain priorities are aligned with wider business needs.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of supply chain operations, a collaborative leadership style and a practical approach to delivering results.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Relevant experience in supply chain management, logistics, procurement or a related field, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, inventory, procurement and logistics.
  • Experience leading teams and working across different functions to achieve shared objectives.
  • Good understanding of demand planning, inventory management and production planning.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations, contract management and supply chain performance improvement.
  • Confidence using ERP systems, data analysis and performance reporting tools.

Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership & Team Development: Able to motivate, support and coordinate teams to deliver results.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicates clearly and builds effective relationships at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Takes a structured, practical approach to challenges and makes informed decisions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Understands how supply chain decisions contribute to wider business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes and performance.
  • Negotiation: Confident in managing supplier relationships and achieving positive commercial outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a changing environment and managing competing priorities.
  • Cultural Awareness: Values different perspectives and works effectively with colleagues across international teams.
