About the Job

This individual will supervise a team responsible for performing the incoming inspection of raw materials.  In addition, they will manage investigations regarding all poor-quality customer complaints.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efforts of the Quality Technicians on the incoming inspection of parts and materials.  Supervise and coordinate the activities of inspectors, delegate work and monitor time and attendance.
  • Coordinate internal team efforts to investigate customer complaints and returns for all poor-quality customer complaints.  Document 8D reports with findings and ensure root cause is identified as well as corrective actions are planned, implemented, and verified.
  • Develop and implement quality control systems and checks to provide support to the production team activities to ensure product is right and on time through meetings, discussions, working groups, action items, and reporting. 
  • Provide metric data in support of upper management and corporate reporting.
  • Initiate and lead collaboration of quality improvement projects and teams.

  • Present solutions for continuous project improvement.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in an industrial manufacturing quality role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing/fabrication business
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • High School or Equivalent degree, Some college preferred, Engineering discipline. 
  • Experience with ISO 9001 standard practices
  • Experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Computer literate
  • Experienced in the use of basic measurement and inspection tools including, but not limited to calipers, rulers, and comparators.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints / drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good organizational skills

PPE Requirements:

  • Safety Glasses to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Safety Shoes to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Must wear appropriate PPE for all work activities performed; varies based on work

Pay range and compensation package:

$80,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
