About the Job

1. General Information

  • Job Title: Steel Fabrication & Coating Manager
  • Report to: General Manager
  • Working Location: Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City)

2. Summary of the role

  • Lead production activities for steel fab products in VNM site.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and operation of the whole production team (personnel, production, performance, etc.).
  • Track production, including safety, quality, efficiency improvement, delivery, cost reduction, etc., to achieve KPI’s targets.
  • Be responsible for order review, technical consultation related work, technical support (internal and external).
  • Daily management of production line, maintaining 5S in workshop; Meeting Safety and Health requirements.
  • Business HC forecast, recruiting & training of operators to meet the need of production (combined effort with HR).

3. Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production systems and processes that align with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, supervise, and develop engineers and production line team leaders to ensure that the manufacturing activities meet established targets and standards.
  • Plan & design of production line, machinery, tools, packages to have effective and efficient operation (cooperation with facility dept. and other production lines). Manage, maintain, and modify the machinery and tools to keep a good situation for production.
  • Monitor the cost and effectiveness of production activities to optimize resources, achieve volume, quality, and manufacturing standards.
  • Continuous improvement management by analyzing operations, workflows and production processes,  to keep safety, 5S, and EHS in the workshop, reducing inefficiency, ensuring the maximization of productivity, reducing wastefulness and production issues, inventory control, and cost control.
  • Training line people to continue to bring to the next level.
  • Product R&D related work, including structure improvement, process improvement, etc. (partly in collaboration with the technical department)  
  • Working closely with sales & other teams, technical support, and communication with different products/projects and marketing expansion.
  • Special project/order management  
  • Support and participation in external audits. 
  • Correction, prevention, and rectification of customer complaints  
  • Training plan and arrangement both for HOD, Team leaders, and operators
  • Measuring operators’ performance and maintaining an effective salary & compensation system; Confers with management and colleagues to solve workers' problems, complaints, and grievances.
  • Develop & implement ME&EE strategy, initiatives, and actions.
  • Special project/order management.
  • Projects assigned

About the Ideal Candidate

  • 10+years’ experience with a good background in Steel Fabrication/Coating manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of production management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree at least.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Lean production background/experience in production is preferred.
