Overall Responsibilities:

Manufacturing

  • Operation of mixing, extrusion, braiding, packing and cutting machines as well as post-cure ovens: including loading of raw material, unloading of parts if necessary, in-line quality checking, rough trimming, machine fine-tuning.
  • Operations of single cutting machines – including initial setting, loading/unloading, in-line checking of quality.
  • Utilising inspection equipment for in-process product quality checks as required.
  • On detection of defect: if within capacity, making changes to the machine setting to solve quality issue, or call supervisor.
  • Ensuring supply of raw material and delivering work in progress to next station. Use of suitable lifting equipment for this task.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized working environment in line with 5S methodology
  • Adhering to cleanroom and equipment cleaning schedules as defined in quality management system (QMS) procedures as per ISO13485.
  • Compiling production documentation, scanning materials, and utilising ERP functionalities as required by the QMS to document production activities.
  • Identifying and reporting anomalies as per company procedures.
  • Receiving and providing adequate handover at the start and end of every shift.
  • Ensuring autonomous maintenance and preventative checks are carried out and recorded as per instructions.

EHS, Quality & Training

  • Adhering to gowning procedure and personal hygiene requirements for working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Observing all QMS standard operating procedures for which training has been provided and reporting any non-conforming events accordingly.
  • Compliance with the requirements of the ISO14001 environment management system (EMS) and the ISO45001 occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS), as well as any other relevant EHS instructions provided.
  • Responsible for reporting any hazards / near misses / incidents immediately to the area management.
  • Participation in risk assessment activities and reduction plans.
  • Attending relevant training as per company policy and training peers when required.

Additional Duties

  • Assisting, where required, in
  • movement and labelling of warehouse stock and shipping of product
  • cleaning of TMS area as per QMS-defined schedules

Skills/Education

  • At least secondary-level education
  • Proficient in basic ICT applications
  • Exposure to ERP application is considered an asset
  • Highly proficient with shop floor practices
  • Able to communicate both written and orally
