Summary

Primary responsibilities will be maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Collaborate closely with internal customers and coordinates external sub-contractors. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting a manufacturing or similar environment.

This role will work primarily day shift hours. Although rare, the individual should expect some emergency or planned weekend support throughout the year.

Tasks & Responsibilities 

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to resolve issues promptly. Equipment includes (but is not limited to) hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Performs minor equipment rebuilds including electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities on various types of equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
  • Completes emergency repairs as necessary to minimize costly downtime and to maintain production schedules.
  • Maintains company equipment.
  • Requires occasional use of company forklift.
  • Retrieves supplies from merchant vendors as needed.
  • Responsible for the timely calibration of equipment.
  • Responsible for oven programming, chart recordings, and chart maintenance
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with all department employees and supervisors.
  • Strictly adheres to all safety protocol.
  • Assists in installation of new equipment as required.
  • Initiates part requisitions.
  • Coordinates outside contracted maintenance as needed (janitorial, building and grounds maintenance).
  • Collaborates closely with engineers, productions staff and other technicians to ensure equipment performance and reliability.
  • Engages in problem solving and provides proactive solutions in their day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with site and industry standards and regulations.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • 2-year technical degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics to assist in problem solving.

Desired:

  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Strong electrical experience or license preferred
  • Experience with heating/cooling systems

  • Commitment to be present for all assigned shifts

The final compensation offered to the candidate may be based on geographical location, work experience and/or skill level. Additions to the compensation package, including but not limited to paid time off, insurance benefits and 401(k) eligibility, will be outlined at the time of the job offer.
