We’re looking for a Finishing Operator to perform all major tasks within the Finishing Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by production supervision.
- Operate all equipment in the Finishing area using cycle parameters found on traveller card/booklet/technical documents as per process instructions and control plans.
- Carry out loading and unloading of curing ovens in line with quality procedures
- Ensure correct identification is kept whilst products are in ovens.
- Ensure equipment in use is in line with specifications required mainly on temperature and time.
- Ensure any control charts are supplied where necessary and completed as required.
- Ensure materials are grouped by cure required.
- Takes good care of the machines entrusted to his/her care, monitors their function and reports immediately any malfunction.
- Keeps particular attention to the risk of mixing, ensuring all bags in the control area are closed and that the necessary cleaning is resorted to when changing from one part to another.
- Ensure parts are placed in their correct clean/new coloured bag / trays labelled accordingly and traveller card is stamped after each process with the stamps provided showing the correct date of the process.
- Ensure that parts are fully prepared for inspection at the required quality/cleanliness level.
- Ensures optimum utilisation of machines to maximise output.
- Refer to production supervision / manager any line or associated problems.
- Carry out all work activities in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety Regulations.
- Other responsibilities include the scanning /stocktaking of parts, expediting urgent parts to/from Finishing including parts requiring Coating/Laboratory and segregation of parts for further internal/external processing.
- Compliance with the requirements of the ISO14001 environment management system and the ISO45001 occupational health and safety management system.
- Responsible for reporting any hazards / near misses / incidents that you’re aware of immediately to the area management.
What we are looking for:
A standard level of education is necessary to understand production process instructions and routings and fill in production paperwork. Training will be received to ensure understanding of any new requirements within job, process, or quality standards. Judgement and concentration are needed to consistently reproduce a production function producing good quality products at all times.
