Trelleborg Albany provides custom design work for various business areas. We are known for the ability to provide complex shapes and product using strips of material and ensuring our equipment and robots can move to accomplish the request.
Essential Job Function: This position creates and produces systems and processes for operating or applications systems. Provides analysis related to software design and development, automation design and development, solves problems. Formulates operating system advancements and performs improvements. Evaluates impact of hardware and software on system performance and recommends changes to engineers and designers
We are looking for someone to:
- Provide automation software programming for manufacturing products - often complex shapes that requires machines to move to accomplish this process
- Keeps production work cells running when mechanical, electrical and/or software problems exist
- For customer owned work cells, we designed - maintain software, licenses and ensure the robots continue to function smoothly through service visits and remote support
- Succession planning for work cell software including internal training of Trelleborg personnel and leading software and supplier selections and discussions.
Education: Usually requires a 4-year degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field and/ 5+ years relevant experience or equivalent
Experience:
License, Certification or Testing: Professional Engineering license or on track to obtaining, is preferred but not required
Special Skills or Characteristics: Automation/robotics experience preferred
Skills or Characteristics:
Able to work with little supervision, make decisions in a timely manner, and make efficient use of his/her time.
Must have Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and MS Project.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Salary Info:
This position has a pay range commensurate with experience up to $110,000
