About the Job
As a Power BI Developer at Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to develop, optimize, and maintain Power BI solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
In this role, you will be expected to work closely with business representatives to capture requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient BI solutions. A strong understanding of backend data structures is essential, and experience with full-stack development is a plus. Additionally, candidates with a background in leading BI-related projects will have an advantage.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and outline high-level BI solution designs, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility.
- Elicit requirements through workshops and interviews with Subject Matter Experts and Process Owners, ensuring a deep understanding of reporting and analysis needs.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, creating intuitive and visually appealing data visualizations, including drill-downs, custom visuals, and performance-optimized solutions.
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, and modeling, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and work closely with the data warehouse team to optimize data retrieval and processing.
- Apply best practices in Power BI development, including DAX optimization, data modeling techniques, and report performance tuning.
- Capture and translate business needs into scalable BI solutions, ensuring usability and value for business stakeholders.
- Implement and enforce data governance policies, security controls, and access management within the Power BI environment to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Provide user training and support to stakeholders on effectively utilizing Power BI dashboards and reports, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI trends and best practices, proactively sharing insights with the team and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Support ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of business insights.
About the Ideal Candidate
3+ years' experience in Power BI development, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query.
NICE TO HAVE: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in DAX and M language for data modeling and calculations.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, database concepts, and performance optimization in Power BI.
- Experience in data cleansing, transformation, and modeling.
- Experience in backend data structures, including working with SQL databases, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and data integration techniques is a plus.
- Experience in open source tools supporting Power BI (DAX Studio, Tabular Editor) is a plus.
- Experience leading BI projects, including gathering requirements from business stakeholders and translating them into scalable solutions, is highly valued.
- Knowledge of full-stack development is a plus, particularly in scenarios where integrating Power BI with web applications or other tools may be beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and ensure data accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in Power BI Report Builder is a plus.
