About the Job

I. General information:

  1. Job Title: Purchasing Engineer
  2. Report to: Supply Chain Manager
  3. Subordinates: N/A
  4. Working Location: Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City)

II. Summary of the role:

  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing vendors to meet business needs while ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery. Drives material cost reduction strategies, negotiates prices, and oversees contract administration. Proactively addresses risks, resolves non-conformance issues, and aligns with market trends to support operational and strategic goals.

III. Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, evaluating and selecting vendors to meet internal business needs;
  • Continuously monitoring/seeking and implementation of material cost reduction via different methods and strategies, lead price negotiation;
  • Ensuring adhere to requirements (delivery time, quality standards, etc.);
  • Executing close, administration and invoice matching;
  • Managing the commercial aspects of contracts such as change requests and claims etc.;
  • Ensure to reach KPIs, make reporting in time;
  • Keep abreast of market demand for those commodities we are using react on a timely manner to any market fluctuation that might affect our demand/usage;
  • Handle NCR, coordinate technical and quality departments to analyze the problems and solve them finally;
  • Identify and eliminate risks and work with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation action and plans.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

 

About the Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelors degree or above, in mechanical engineering, automation or polymer engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing;
  • Working experience in rubber factory is preferred;
  • Knowledge of quality and environment system;
  • SAP knowledge is preferred.
