The Maintenance Technician, alongside the Facilities Maintenance Manager, performs all tasks involved in maintaining the facilities and production areas to ensure that all production equipment is in good working order. The position requires an extensive understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components. The major duties of the maintenance technician position is to maintain the manufacturing equipment in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure the facilities are as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Requires significant process expertise and experience, the use of independent judgement, high level troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with no supervision.
- Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and PLC controls, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues. Ability to troubleshoot resourcefully with minimal OEM support.
- Understands programming logic and computer control for CNC and manual (lathe, Bridgeport) machines to be able to efficiently troubleshoot and repair machines.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; and examining form and texture of parts.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical problems to OEM suppliers to resolve problems is a timely manner.
Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.

Work Environment
The employee will work both in an office environment and on the production floor. While in the plant the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the plant work environment can be loud. As directed by the management, this position is required to perform miscellaneous duties to ensure acceptable production and quality standards; ensure a safe and healthful workplace; and maintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb ladders; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and lifting less than 50 pounds infrequently throughout the day. When lifting anything the employee feels in beyond their capacity, or anything in excess of 50 pounds, the employee is to request assistance in lifting from another employee.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time day-shift position, and days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of shift may vary depending on business needs, but varies between 5:00 am – 4:30 pm, with a schedule of 40 hours per week.
Required Education and Experience
2+ Years experience as maintenance technician working with CNC and manual (lathe and Bridgeport) machines.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience working with CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual machines
Work Authorization to be eligible to work in the U.S
Salary
Starting salary $25 - $35 per hour commensurate with experience
