Manage the supply chain to include planning and production control functions to provide efficient and cost effective services for the company. Achieve the best value for goods and services via secure lines of supply.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Guide and direct work of Supply Chain including Planning, Purchasing and Inventory. 

Essential Duties: Listed in priority order with most important duties listed first

  • Effectively manage raw material procurement to insure best value for the company
  • Implement procurement strategies which help to ensure a secure supply with multiple suppliers
  • Develop and maintain supply chain systems, processes and procedures to enhance the business infrastructure
  • Research raw material markets so as to better understand drivers that effect supply and price
  • Ensure that the Procurement Team works closely with Product Groups, Technical, and Operations to better understand their needs and to effectively provide procurement solutions for their projects
  • Establish close relationships with key suppliers
  • Pursue and investigate alternative Materials and Suppliers in liaison with Technical, Product Groups and Operations
  • Establish contracts with suppliers that are value-added to the company in terms of security of supply and price
  • Build strong relationships with Product Groups to assist them in achieving their goals
  • Ensure that Procurement is considered a valued team member and looked at as a group that adds value to the company's bottom line
  • Develops and implements purchasing programs to maximize the effective use of organizational resources
  • Management of supplier performance with respect to quality, delivery and cost
  • Analyze and evaluate bids and proposals
  • Raw material planning
  • Oversee Logistics and Warehousing functions
  • Manages Warehouses to ensure the most effective utilization of resources and accuracy of inventory
  • Report Cost Savings as well as issues that may have a positive or negative effect on the company 

Knowlege Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good knowledge of Purchasing and Warehousing requirements
  • Strong written and communication skills with ability to interface effectively with management, peers, product groups and suppliers
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems
  • Strong knowledge of legal and commercial aspects of Purchasing
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to travel domestic and international

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Distribution or equivalent related experience
  • 10 years Purchasing or Supply Chain experience
