Summary of Role:

The ServicePLUS Buyer/Planner acts as an agent of the Company to plan, procure product from direct manufacturers and third party suppliers at terms consistent with our standards of quality and customer schedules. This role has responsibility to plan and align inventory at the ServicePLUS Centers to help the supply chain deliver timely to meet customer contracts and expectations. Additionally, the selected candidate will have to meet inventory and working capital metrics consistent with company goals.


Tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Focus on creating an exceptional customer experience
  • Develop supplier relationships and support supplier performance 
  • Procure product for re-sale
  • Help with ongoing vendor quality, price, and delivery performance
  • Review MRP system demand messages to identify items and quantities requiring replenishment
  • Load and monitor forecasts, supplier quotes/requotes, and issue purchase orders to suppliers
  • Process, follow-up, and respond to purchase order priority requests
  • Support pricing catalog, lead times, safety stocks and MOQ changes
  • Engage with other Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) departments
  • Communication of early warning notifications between Suppliers and appropriate ServicePLUS Operations Managers/Supervisors
  • Analyze inventory to meet both contractual obligations with customers and company working capital goals
  • Work with sales to resolve appropriate stocking levels for customer programs
  • Other duties may be assigned as required, such as special projects, etc.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2 years experience in purchasing/procurement/planning or supply chain required.
  • Experience working with ERP systems required, JD Edwards and or Prophet 21 preferred.
  • NAPM, APICS, TQM or other certifications a plus

  • Ability to learn ERP and CRM systems

Can work out of any of our ServicePlus locations (Ames, Iowa, Vancouver, Washington, New Berlin, Wisconsin) or Fort Wayne, Indiana.
