Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join their Plymouth, MN team. Work with Estimating, Tool Design, and Engineering teams to ensure a manufacturing solution is delivered regarding tooling needs for current production or new products. Act as liaison between Engineering and Toolmakers to guide new tool construction and troubleshooting of tooling-related production problems.

Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or 10 years equivalent experience
- Estimated 7 years of experience in tool design, construction, troubleshooting, and repair of molds and related tooling including final fitting and assembly.
- Experience estimating mold design requirements and construction costs by analyzing customer drawings and 3D models.
Senior Tooling Engineer: In addition to the above
- Estimated 10 years of experience in tool design, construction, troubleshooting, and repair of molds and related tooling including final fitting and assembly. Extensive experience estimating mold design requirements and construction costs by analyzing customer drawings and 3D models.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides technical support to Estimating/Sales for quoting new programs.
- Acts as Tooling contact for Automation and NPD Engineering teams by monitoring and providing regular updates on project status
- Supports Manufacturing Engineering in understanding, and finding solutions for, tooling-related production needs
- Assists Toolmakers in troubleshooting problems with individual tools and determining timely, effective action plans for repairs or modifications
- Aids in coordinating and identifying suppliers for outsourced manufacturing processes
- Participates in tool design review activities and provides input for manufacturing success
- Works safely and acts in accordance with all safety policies and procedures
- Participates in and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement projects
- Assists in the determination of root cause for nonconformance of tooling components
Senior Tooling Engineer: In addition to the above
- Maintains a high level of autonomy and possesses the skill set necessary for the above tasks and responsibilities
- Serves as subject matter expert related to tool design and build
