Buyer/Planner

This position requires planning, prioritizing, and coordinating the purchase and delivery of raw materials. The person in this role will have financial knowledge and manufacturing process acumen that will allow for effective supplier management, and the ability to engage and resolve quality issues associated with suppliers of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Run reports and research demand to create purchase orders for delivery to manufacturing plants.
• Manage supplier to confirm delivery dates and to provide good quality parts.
• Expedite purchase orders to meet customer demands.
• Demand Planning Management in ERP system through the maintenance of data in ERP system as it relates to item set up, lead time, lot size, incremental orders quantities, quoted price and standard costs.
• Communicate purchase order information to stakeholders.
• Resolve discrepancies pertaining to, but not limited to the following: purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, RMA, and inventory transactions in collaboration with accounting and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: 

• Four-year Bachelor’s degree or 5 years purchasing and planning experience, required
• Certification with professional organization such as the ISM or ASCM, preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

• Experience purchasing resins, polymers, HNBR, Fluoro elastomer, EPDM, Carbon black, NBR, plasticizers preferred
• Strong excel and organizational skills
• Understanding of MRP and planning, routing, BOM and demand planning preferred
• Possesses the ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment and work effectively across multiple groups and levels as a team
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others and deals well with ambiguity
• Bias for action and urgency to drive tangible impact to support our customers
• Possesses integrity with the ability to deal openly and accept accountability to stakeholders
