Summary of the Role:

Main deliverables:

  • Support the Manufacturing Excellence Programs in the TSS Operations BU Americas sites to achieve the overall Excellence Savings as per TSS Operations BU targets.
  • Support the Energy Excellence Programs in the TSS Operations Americas sites to achieve TSS Sustainability targets.
  • Support the execution of Operational Excellence strategy and the deployment of the Manufacturing Excellence Roadmap across TSS Operations Americas sites
  • Actively support kaizen activities and lean projects as required, supporting the sites to achieve operational and financial goals and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develop the network of Manufacturing Excellence (ME) leads propagating best practice sharing.
  • Support the development of the ME community members.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for supporting ME leads on sites with ME programs including project identification, prioritization, selection as part of the Beyond Budgeting process.
  • Responsible for supporting ME leads on sites in identifying opportunities for energy excellence projects in alignment with sustainability strategy and goals.
  • Responsible for carrying out regular operational excellence reviews with the site ME leads and management team, tracking timely execution of planned projects and tracking of operational KPIs to identify gaps and improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for deploying across BU operational excellence initiatives in alignment with operational excellence strategy.
  • Responsible for supporting the sites to plan a strategy for the lean journey based on the Manufacturing Excellence Roadmap focusing on strategic value streams and the strengthening of the continuous improvement process on sites.
  • Responsible for the tracking and reviewing progress of project plan resulting from the ME Roadmap assessment.
  • Actively encourage and support kaizen activities and lean projects in execution of the ME program and ME Roadmap, particularly Value Stream Mapping and Performance Board Management driving the continuous improvement mind set throughout the organization.
  • Develop the competencies of ME leads through training in ME Skills and active support on site as required. Support the development of the One TSS Excellence SharePoint as a database of knowledge, training material and best practice sharing through selected Subject Matter Experts.
  • Strengthen the networking amongst ME leads and support the standardization of best practices across the sites.

Education and Experience: 

  • Expertise and extensive experience in Lean manufacturing is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma methodology, black belt level is desirable.
  • Technical / Engineering or Manufacturing Qualification is desirable.
  • Strong Project Management mindset and experience.
  • Experience with both Project and Portfolio management.
  • Extensive experience with stakeholder management
  • Management experience through all the levels of the organization and lead through others.

Competencies: 

  • Lean skills: competent in all lean toolbox
  • Six sigma methodology
  • Change Management skills are essential.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Coaching skills
  • Broad technical knowledge.

Travel: 

Travel associated with this role for approximately 1/2 weeks per month to Americas sites.

Summary of the Role: 

The Operations Manager has responsibility for the sites production operations working closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial Teams, and customers to deliver high quality parts to our customers. This role oversees department managers to ensure departmental goals are established and achieved, maximizing customer satisfaction while minimizing cost.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures departmental goals are established and driven to support Trelleborg’s Goals and Objectives
  • Works with direct reports to communicate and update goals and/or metrics, illustrating objective evidence of improvement.
  • Performs process audits to monitor procedure and policy conformance.
  • Responsible for supporting and sustaining safety, quality, delivery, and cost metric boards across operational departments.
  • Collaborates across functional areas to implement needed improvements (tools, equipment, procedures, forms, training materials, etc.)
  • Actively promotes and leads a culture of continuous improvement guiding site Operational Excellence and Procurement Excellence goals. 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Partner with Management to ensure site’s financial goals and deliverables are met.
  • Active participation in establishing site operation strategic planning in alignment with Trelleborg vision.
  • Effective leadership in supporting employee engagement efforts and communication.
  • Support and provide regular alignment with Supply Chain, and Quality in support of a One TSS culture.
  • Provide excellent customer support as required.
  • Support manufacturing process to support initiatives that sustain a culture of Lean.
  • Escalates issues or concerns to Plant Manager as appropriate.
  • Provides a safe and clean working environment for all employees.

Education and Experience: 

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field
  • 7+ years Operations experience
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Lean Sigma methodologies
  • Experience managing in a unionized manufacturing facility.

Desired:

  • MBA or master’s degree in related field
  • 10+ years of Operations Management experience
  •
