Summary of the Role: 

Manage all aspects of the EH&S for the Aerospace business in the Seattle area.  Manage the facilities and maintenance departments to ensure that all equipment in the plant is operating safely and efficiently and maintained in accordance with industry standards and state and federal regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Implement and maintain ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
  • Lead the safety committee, conduct environmental and safety training and environmental and safety audits.
  • Develop & maintain site layout & footprint of site including any in-facility restructuring as the business evolves in alignment with manufacturing operations, define required new machine specifications and coordinate logistics and rigging needs for installation to meet manufacturing demands and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment, maintain existing equipment in response to preventative and reactive maintenance work orders. Schedule preventive maintenance activities as prescribed by preventive maintenance database and plant demands.
  • Requisition and track tools, assets, equipment, supplies, and services. Includes overseeing regular electrical work, clean room PM, infrastructure management including chiller systems, and HVAC maintenance.
  • Manage and participate in the Capital requisition and approval system (CAPEX) for the total site.
  • Participate in AS9100 activities which align with facilities and EH&S activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations including hazardous waste management, air and water permitting, SARA, OSHA and applicable European standards.
  • Managing and improving plant Environmental and Safety Programs. Collecting analyzing, and maintaining Environmental and Safety Metrics. Includes monthly reporting.
  • Take lead in accident investigations and root cause/corrective action investigations. Working with employees in improving environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Ensure that wastes (hazardous and non-hazardous) are inspected and labeled, and ensure proper disposal procedures are being followed. Act as hazardous waste coordinator.
  • Manages services or related products from outside vendors, oversees on-site contractor work ensuring contractors are working within our safety and environmental guidelines; ensures they have completed contractor safety training.
  • Corporate responsibility reporting, annual Blue Grading assessment of operations per corporate guidelines in relation to EH&S, local authority & Fire Department coordination/reporting, permit conformance, and coordinate of site security system.

Education and Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of related experience in both facilities/maintenance and EH&S (Environmental, Health and Safety)
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role

Desired:

  • 3+ years in a maintenance leadership role
  • Experience and/or understanding of welding, blueprint reading, general mechanical skills. In addition experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrically controlled and operated systems.

Job title: CNC Setup Machinist

The CNC Operator III is responsible for fabricating parts on numerically controlled machine and working from design and specifications, determines machining requirements and prepares a mathematical definition of the part to be produced.  They will edit programs as needed as well as ensuring operation of the machines.  This position will determine the proper speeds, feed and types of cutters needed to maximize machine efficiency.  Prepares input for computer to generate actual machine control program.  This position requires following standard work instructions of each required specification ensuring quality production of parts.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Edits and troubleshoots G code programs as well as makes adjustments to tooling offsets based on knowledge and experience.
  • Performs set up operations for all types of work orders per SMED process sheet.
  • Validates unproven CNC programs for first time manufacture.
  • Edits programs at the machine; includes processes and tooling to ensure finished products are in specification.
  • Reviews production orders for machining jobs and determines dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces; requires reviewing data sheets, blueprints and materials.
  • Performs complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of parts.
  • Provides technical expertise and support to CNC Operators to solve production problems and increase efficiency.
  • Collects and records Statistical Process Control (SPC) data as required by inspection methods for each order to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operates the Optical Comparator and other measuring tools to ensure correct dimensions of machined parts.
  • Oversees machine operation throughout the production run to ensure part conformance.
  • May be required to run more than one machine simultaneously per standard work.
  • Cross trains in other areas as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Should have a minimum of 5-7 years CNC experience in a manufacturing environment operating CNC equipment.  Experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to setup, edit and operate CNC lathe and mill.
  • Ability to read and edit G code programs and adjust tooling offsets.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and provide sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in English; both written and verbal
  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate CNC machinery in a manner that uses raw materials to their best advantage and protects tools against breakage.
  • Extensive knowledge of machining tools and processes.
  • Must have ability to read and execute requirements on blueprints, drawings and work instructions
  • Must have excellent math skills to read and process work instructions
  • Knowledge of materials and material requirements; including knowledge of nonconforming material procedure
  • Should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to set up machines for and instruct other operators
  • Must have excellent knowledge of SPC charts based on dimensions and the ability to read them
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities
  • Must have intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to use and read measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales and other quality control tools. Must be able to read measurements between .100 to .0001

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is in the CNC department of a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged standing, walking, squatting, twisting, bending, and reaching throughout an entire ten-hour or eight-hour shift.  Must be able to move and handle varying sized tools and dies in a dirty, dusty and noisy environment.  Requires lifting to 50 pounds and working with large machinery and cutting tools.

We are hiring a Second Shift Supervisor to join our growing team! This position will work a minimum 50-hour work week, Monday-Friday with Saturdays on occasion, scheduled shift of 2:00pm-12:00am. This position will be required to train in all departments on First shift, Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:00pm, for the first 3 to 6 months before moving to Second shift.

Job Description:

  • Manages all production activities on given shift
  • Maintains responsibility and direct supervision of staff across all active departments during shift, from 15 to 30+ production employees
  • Supervise a diverse population of hourly personnel
  • Monitor workflow and manage labor resources to meet changing production needs
  • Work closely with Production Manager, Operations Manager, EHS Team, and other shift leads, supervisors and management to ensure timely completion of daily production metrics
  • Actively support and seek out opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating training for employees
  • Provide performance appraisals and issues disciplinary actions for employees including providing direct feedback to employees to ensure safety, productivity and quality standards are achieved
  • Supports plant safety initiatives through addressing unsafe work habits, conducting accident investigations, and performing regular safety audits in tandem with EHS team
  • Actively pursues process improvement to reduce cost and/or improve production quality using problems solving or other continuous improvement methods

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Helsingør får biler til at yde mere, fly til at lande stabilt og gravkoen til at bryde igennem det umulige, for vi er 320 engagerede kolleger, der er specialiserede i udvikling og produktion af tætningssystemer til højteknologiske virksomheder inden for hydraulik-, bil-, fly-, skibs-, olie- og maskinindustrien.
