Job Description: 

  1. Perform supply and demand analysis of Supplier Managed Stock (SMS).
  2. Inventory control and cycle counting duties will be required.
  3. Obtain supplier quotations as needed in an acceptable time frame to support customer requirements, for assigned commodities.
  4. Procure purchased components, MRO, equipment, services and general office equipment needs in support of the internal/external customer’s requirements, controlling costs.
  5. Assure all purchase requisitions received comply with company policy.
  6. Negotiate unit prices, terms, and delivery dates as required, for assigned commodities.
  7. Support in achieving annual cost savings goals for Purchasing and TSS Fort Wayne.
  8. Place and maintain purchase orders in J.D. Edwards. Verifying compliance of purchase limits to TSS Fort Wayne’s Financial Limits of Authority, as required.
  9. Maintain PO files, as required by TSS Record Retention Policy.
  10. Communicate changes in supplier requirements to assigned commodity suppliers.
  11. Notify assigned suppliers when CAR’s are issued, obtain RMA’s, and coordinate the return and replacement of material as required. Ensure supplier corrective action responses are received timely in compliance to Qualtrax guidelines.
  12. Work together with Product Manager and Document Control to issue bi-annual Supplier performance Report Cards to vendors.
  13. Work together with Product Manager and Part Setup Team to improve first time through and streamlining of information.
  14. Perform back up duties as necessary for Finance Manager.
  1. Participate in, and continuously improve, the facility’s certification programs (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100D, etc.) to achieve plant goals and objectives.

Required Education and Experience: 

  1. Must have minimum of Associate’s degree in business or equivalent, or two year progressive experience in planning or purchasing.

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  1. Experience with J.D. Edwards ERP a plus.
  2. Inventory experience helpful.
  3. Required knowledge of shop arithmetic.
  4. Neatness and accuracy a must.
  5. Must be able to understand and follow instructions and procedures.
  6. Proficient in M.S. Office 

Responsibilities May Include: 

  1. Be familiar with critical environmental aspects for assigned areas of responsibility and respond accordingly based on the Aspects and Impacts Matrix, procedures and/or training.

Trelleborg Medical Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the procurement functions for Trelleborg Medical Solutions, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services critical to our operations. This role involves strategic supplier management, developing strategies to meet and exceed cost-reduction improvements, and working cross-functionally across a global organization.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support strategic initiatives
• Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor market trends to anticipate material price fluctuations and supply chain risks.

Supplier Management
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, price maintenance and compliance with industry standards.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations in collaboration with the Trelleborg Medical Solutions supplier quality team
• Establishes processes to manage third-party suppliers for purchase for resale, inclusive of Trelleborg suppliers; and acquired companies until further integrated.

Inventory & Cost Management
• Collaborate with the planning and production teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels and avoid disruptions, while balancing cost of capital goals.
• Track and manage procurement budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Report on purchasing performance metrics and KPIs, to meet purchasing excellence and other goals
• Collaborates with data management to ensure globally inventory management is accurate 

Compliance & Quality Assurance  

Ensure procurement activities comply with our global quality management system and medical industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA requirements).
Work with Supplier Quality team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions, ensuring quality throughout the value chain.

Qualifications: 

Required:
• 5+ years in procurement, supply chain, or related fields
• Minimum of 4 year college degree (business, engineering, or supply chain preferred)
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and best-practices

Preferred:
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and contract management
• Prior work experience within a life sciences or medical device organization
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality requirements

Travel requirements: approximately 30% domestic to other local sites

Salary info: $90,000 and up based on experience
