About the Job

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Strategic Procurement Director has full accountability for defining, governing, and delivering the procurement strategy for the Business Unit(s). The role ensures global cost competitiveness, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and long‑term value creation, in close partnership with BU leadership, operations, finance, and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the global procurement strategy aligned with Business Unit, Business Area, and Group objectives
  • Establish procurement governance, standards, and decision frameworks across all sites and categories
  • Define multi‑year procurement roadmaps covering cost, resilience, sustainability, and capability building
  • Accountable for delivery of annual and mid‑term cost and value targets
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) and working capital optimization across key categories
  • Capture cross‑site, cross‑category and cross‑BU/BA synergies where applicable
  • Define and manage the strategic supplier portfolio, including innovation, supply continuity, and risk exposure
  • Lead executive‑level supplier negotiations and Supplier Business Reviews
  • Own procurement‑led risk management, including critical materials and market volatility
  • Lead and develop a global procurement organization (direct and matrix)
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and capability development plans
  • Act as the senior procurement representative in BU and cross‑functional leadership forums
  • Ensure procurement compliance with legal, regulatory, and sustainability requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Senior procurement leadership experience in a complex, global manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and sustained value delivery
  • Strong commercial and contractual competence
  • Experienced leader in matrix organizations with international scope
  • Background in polymers, chemicals, textiles, or engineered materials is a plus

Successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

About the Job

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Supply Chain Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning and expediting required materials for the production floor to satisfy customer delivery needs while optimizing production efficiencies and inventory investments and will purchase various supplies and equipment for the operation based on established procedures and guidelines. This position works directly with the other supply chain team members and the local operating team to establish priorities to meet forecast plans and current customer demand. In addition, this position will also contribute to the direct scheduling of production machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
  • Track and monitor materials from initial shipment from the supplier to final delivery at the site
  • Monitor and track inventory levels on-hand and on-order, including managing delivery issues through proactive follow-up and escalation
  • Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders for our suppliers
  • Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc. in-line with site and business priorities
  • Tracking production volume, monitoring customer demand patterns, and purchasing trends
  • Liaison between customers, suppliers, and distributors
  • Managing inventory issues, schedules changes, and cancellations
  • Leading problem-solving sessions to determine root cause and countermeasures
  • Preparing cost estimates and performance reports (KPI’s and Metrics)
  • Maintain data/information integrity within the SAP ERP including but not limited to vendor information, purchasing terms, lead times, costs, etc.
  • Ensure raw materials, packaging components, supplies, services are purchased as required to maintain the safe and efficient operations of the site and business
  • Ensure that required documentation such as certificates of analysis or conformity, SDS, insurance documentation, use and handling instructions, etc. are received as required from vendors and routed to appropriate stakeholders
  • Provide vendor/supplier oversight regarding responsiveness and performance. Participate in vendor and supplier qualification, performance evaluations, metrics tracking, etc.
  • Interface with Quality, EHS, and other stakeholders in vendor/supplier complaint or poor performance investigations
  • Participate in project assignments as needed, i.e. Dual sourcing, RFQ’s, RFP’s, Working Capital Improvement
  • Creating and maintaining the daily production schedule for each machine at the site according to customer and business needs

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years Material Planning Experience
  • 2+ Years Inventory Management or Purchasing Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Supply chain management certification: APICS (CSCP, CPIM, SCOR-P) or ISM (CPSM) preferred
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of SAP (or other major ERP system) and MS Office
  • Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Self-starter approach to work with an eagerness to take responsibility and constantly exceed goals

  • Abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung oder Studium im Bereich Betriebswirtschaft, Office Management o. Ä., idealerweise mit Schwerpunkt Logistik oder Supply Chain.
  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung im Office Management sowie mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung in der Gestaltung oder Optimierung logistischer Prozesse.
  • Erste oder vertiefte Erfahrung im Qualitätsmanagement.
  • Sicherer Umgang mit digitalen Tools und Logistiksystemen.
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.
  • Sehr gute MS‑Office‑Kenntnisse für Analysen, Dokumentation und Kommunikation.
  • Hohes Kosten- und Qualitätsbewusstsein sowie Verständnis für Qualitätsaudit-Anforderungen.
  • Erste Kenntnisse in SAP ERP S/4HANA, EWM und SHIP EWM.
  • Analytisches, strukturiertes Denken und eine eigenständige, zuverlässige Arbeitsweise.

Ferienjob im Logistikzentrum Gärtringen (m/w/d)

Zeitraum: 03. August bis 25. September
Mindest­einsatz: 3 Wochen am Stück

Du möchtest dir in den Ferien etwas dazuverdienen und gleichzeitig praktische Einblicke in die Logistik gewinnen? Dann unterstütze unser Team im Logistikzentrum in Gärtringen.

Du übernimmst eigenverantwortlich

  • Annahme, Entladung und Prüfung von Warenlieferungen auf Vollständigkeit, Identität und Qualität
  • Buchungen im Lagerverwaltungssystem durchführen
  • Innerbetrieblicher Transport von Waren und Materialien
  • Zusammenstellung von Kundenaufträgen mit hoher Sorgfalt
  • Verpacken, Kennzeichnen und Bereitstellen von Sendungen
  • Erstellung und Prüfung von Versand- und Begleitdokumenten
  • Unterstützung bei Verladetätigkeiten unter Einhaltung der Vorschriften zur Ladungssicherung
  • Durchführung von Konfektionierungs- und Value-Added-Services (z. B. Etikettieren, Umpacken, einfache Montagen)
  • Sicherstellung von Qualitätsstandards in allen Arbeitsschritten
  • Erkennen und Meldung von Abweichungen oder Schäden
  • Einhaltung von Arbeitssicherheits-, Qualitäts- und Ordnungsvorschriften
  • Bedienung von Flurförderzeugen (je nach Qualifikation)
