Demand Planning Manager

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing production and materials planning within Trelleborg’s manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP systems and a strong background in manufacturing environments. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production scheduling, inventory control, and supply chain coordination to meet customer demand and operational goals.

As a representative of our company, the Demand Planning Manager will always operate and represent Trelleborg at the highest ethical standards and in accordance with our core values.

Responsibilities  

  • Lead the development and execution of production and materials planning strategies to support manufacturing operations.
  • Utilize SAP (e.g., SAP PP, SAP MM) to manage production schedules, material requirements, and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless end-to-end planning.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance, inventory levels, and supply chain metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to meet production schedules while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Develop and maintain planning KPIs and dashboards using SAP reporting tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of planners and schedulers, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes through effective planning and coordination.
  • Lead the S&OP monthly process for the organization.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years using SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning (SAP PP) and materials management (SAP MM).
  • Proven ability to manage complex planning scenarios and optimize manufacturing workflows.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP reporting tools.

Successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • SAP certification in relevant modules.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems integration and data governance.
  • Experience with high mix, low volume production complexity.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • Effective & efficient technical and strategic problem solving, and organizational skills required.

Travel Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor.

About the job

As a logistics specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the transportation and distribution of goods, ensuring a smooth flow of material and products throughout the supply chain. 

In this hands on role you will manage the logistical process, negotiate with carriers as well as implement new strategies to enhances efficiency while meeting production and customer demands.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Coordination
    • Coordinate the transportation of materials and finished goods.
    • Assist PMs with drafting, reviewing, and issuing POs to forwarder and vendors.
  • Distribution Management
    • Oversee the distribution process, including order fulfillment, packing, and shipping, to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Carrier Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with transportation carriers, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues to ensure reliable and quality services.
  • Freight Cost Management
    • Manage freight costs by analyzing shipping rates, optimizing transportation strategies, and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Inventory Control
    • Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize stock levels and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Customs Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and manage documentation related to international shipments, coordinating with customs brokers when necessary.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Risk Management
    • Identify potential risks within the logistics process, such as delays or disruptions, and implement strategies to mitigate and manage these risks.
  • Technology Utilization
    • Utilize logistics management software and tools to streamline processes, track shipments, and enhance overall visibility and coordination.
  • Continuous Improvement

About you

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

  • Experience in worldwide logistics coordination, transportation management, and customs clearance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience with ocean and inland freight, customs documentation, and international shipping processes.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining team collaboration
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem solving mindset and attention to detail

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for shipping finished product to internal and external customers according to specified carrier, method and packing instructions in support of TSS Denver’s Vision–Mission–Values (VMV).  This position must follow the shipment orders to ensure not only the timely delivery of product, but also that product is not damaged during transport.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Packages finished product according to shipping instructions; includes ensuring correct package type, labeling, shipping method (ie. carrier and/or rush orders), and required documentation.  Ensures product will arrive undamaged through packing process.

Uses the shipping software to generate packing slips; includes printing inner and outer labels and attaching all required documents and/or paperwork; completes process by ship confirming orders in the JDE system.

Ensures International shipments are packaged and shipped according to procedure.

Assembles boxes of all sizes for packing product; uses required bubble wrap packing material to ensure undamaged product is transported.

Schedules product pick-up from appropriate shipping carriers when necessary.

Schedules freight pick-up with appropriate carriers when shipment exceeds size and weight limits; ensure required documents such as bill of lading.

Programs auto bagger according to customer specifications; individually bags parts as required.

Ensures shipping department inventory (boxes, plastic bags, chip boards, etc by dimension) are at appropriate levels; orders refills as necessary.

Cross-trains and ensures quality output of non-department employees during high volume times.

Maintains customer service levels with carrier drivers.

Backflushes material orders in the JDE system.

Demonstrates understanding, support and consistent application of our Vision, Mission and Core Values

Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Should have previous experience in a fast-paced shipping department preferably in a manufacturing environment.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Should have basic understanding of the JDE system and shipping software

Must have knowledge of shipping procedures and requirements

Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively in English both written and verbal

Must have ability to operate various shipping and office equipment such as computer, tape runner, auto bagger, and bag sealer.

Should have experience operating the UPS online system

Must have basic knowledge of blueprints and work instructions to ensure proper packaging

Must have basic math and typing skills

Should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

Must have experience in completion of international and domestic bill of lading and shipping documentation.


Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged standing, walking, squatting, twisting, bending, and reaching throughout an entire eight-hour shift.  Must be able to move and handle varying sized products in bags and/or boxes in a dirty, dusty and noisy environment.  Requires lifting up to 25 lbs.

Summary of the Role:
